On the 14th of October, 2025 the annual Jumble Sale was organized with great enthusiasm by the Soroptimist Welfare Association in collaboration with PCER, Chembur. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Daphne Pillai, Secretary of the Mahatma Education Society, who highlighted the values of compassion, community service, and sustainable living as essential pillars of the Soroptimist. The venue came alive with colorful stalls displaying a wide variety of items such as clothes, footwear, utensils, toys, bags, jewellery, and home essentials. The arrangement of the stalls reflected creativity and teamwork, making the event lively and inviting. Volunteers from the B.Ed. and BBA departments, guided by faculty members, efficiently managed the stalls, organized products, and interacted warmly with customers, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the day.
The sale drew active participation from students, teachers, and members of the local community, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. It served as a platform for promoting reuse and recycling while fostering the spirit of giving and sharing. The proceeds from the sale will go toward Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur’s welfare initiatives, supporting the needy and contributing to social upliftment. The Jumble Sale successfully combined social responsibility, sustainability, and community engagement, reflecting the true spirit of the mission.
