Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai College of Education and Research celebrated World water Day and Poetry Day by conducting a special assembly. The assembly was organised by the F.Y.B.Ed. students on a virtual platform. It started with a prayer by Ms. Krupa, thanking the almighty for providing safe drinking water, the SDG Goal number 6 was delivered by Ms. Lucy, where she highlighted the importance of clean water and sanitation. Subsequently, the thought of the day was delivered by Ms. Lubna and news for the day was presented by Ms. Mehjabeen. A short speech by Ms. Nikita and a video created by the F.Y. B.Ed. students was also presented which highlighting the causes of contamination of water, causes of water pollution and preservation of water. For poetry day celebration Ms. Payal, Ms. Shraddha and Ms. Ratna recited poems in Marathi, Hindi and English. This was followed by an enlightening speech by our beloved Principal Dr Reni Francis who highlighted the importance of water and shared tips on saving water through a story of an ‘Ant and the grasshopper’. The program concluded with a vote of thanks given by the General Secretary of student council.

The Water Day and Poetry Day assembly thus emphasized in creating awareness on water conservation and the poems recited by the students were very inspiring, giving the poets recognition for their creativity.
