Day and Date: Tuesday, 18th April, 2023

World Heritage Day, 2023 was celebrated at PCER, Chembur through field visits at the historic buildings, monuments and archaeological sites with the aim of promoting awareness about the importance of preserving these heritage sites. To commemorate World Heritage Day F.Y.B.Ed students from each tutorial group visited various heritage sites in Mumbai such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (Prince of Wales Museum), Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus(Iconic VT station), Rajabhai Tower (Fort campus of the University of Mumbai) and many more. Students from each tutorial group made a video collage with the snippets from their visit and captioned the it with the steps that are needed to protect and respect the heritage site that they observed during your visit. All the videos from each tutorial group were then merged and the merged video was uploaded on pcerchembur youtube channel. The link for this video is https://youtu.be/86SzuYSkFmw

Visits to these heritage sites provided an opportunity for the student teachers to understand and appreciate India’s rich cultural heritage, helping them to raise awareness about the threats such as climate change, natural disasters, and human activities that these heritage sites face. This activity helped the students to gain understanding about the value of cultural heritage.
