International Yoga day was celebrated on 11th July, 2019 at MES’s Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur. The theme was ‘Listen to your Body’.
Professional Yoga trainers Mr. Sadashiv Kashinath Kunde and Mr. Farheed who are highly trained and have done their philosophy in Yoga conducted the session. Our Principal welcomed them with a bouquet and spoke about the importance of yoga in our lives and how often we neglect to Listen to our body at times. Mr. Sadashiv gave an introduction of how one must work on the health issues faced by a teacher, by doing sedentary work. Mr. Farheed started the session with basic meditation followed by explaining how to overcome the problems of besity, migraine, tensions, insufficient sleep, concentration & fear. Many student-teacher asked their doubts too. He further asked us to perform some stretching exercises which were very helpful. He further stated that at times there is no need to join the gym, as stretching exercises keeps obesity away and makes one active. He also laid emphasis on the right way of breathing. He concluded the session by saying a beautiful prayer & conducting a several exercise. Lastly he conducted the laughing exercise which was like a cherry on the cake. This was indeed a knowledgeable session. They asked us to remember “Healthy Body & Mind helps us to achieve success and our goals in life. Our Principal and other staff members thanked them for coming & sharing their valuable inputs & time with us.
