PCER > Co-curricular Activities > Field Visit – Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya

S.Y. B.Ed students of PCER, Chembur went on a field trip to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya, formerly known as Prince of Wales Museum, on the 8th December, 2022. The students were provided with the task of writing a report on the visit to truly make the field trip an effective learning experience. Students were also introduced to the teachers role during a field visit and provided with an experience so that they learn the various things to keep in mind when they take their students in the future. The students enjoyed viewing a wide variety of enxhbits. There was a taxidermy session by a senior taxidermist at the museum. He gave a talk on the process and shared how newer techniques are being developed. He had great insight and gave a wonderful presentation on the same. He touched upon ornithology as he explained the difference in the taxidermy process for birds, animals and fish. He also amused the students with the various bird calls he made during his presentation. It truly was a memorable experience for both the students and the teachers.
