MES’s Pillai College of Education and Research (Autonomous), Chembur, in collaboration with the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), organized an online expert talk on 21st February, 2026 on “E-Waste Management in the Environment.” The session featured Ms. Kalpana Andhare, counsellor and trainer associated with Stree Mukti Sanghatana.

The programme began with an introduction of the speaker by Valentina, followed by active participation from B.Ed. and BBA students. Ms. Andhare highlighted the rising issue of e-waste, noting India’s position as the third-largest producer. She discussed environmental and health hazards caused by improper disposal and identified challenges such as lack of awareness and weak infrastructure. She also explained Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) as a key solution.

The session concluded with practical suggestions and a vote of thanks, making it highly informative and awareness-oriented.
