A special assembly for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti was held on 18th February, 2020.This festival is celebrated on 19th February in remembrance of the birth anniversary of the first Chhatrapati and founder of the Maratha Empire.
The student teachers of PCER presented a very creative and meaningful programme. The programme anchored by Ms. Priyanka Mohite commenced with a prayer Song- Gananayakaya, Ganadaivataya Ganadhijakshaya Di Mahi… beautifully sung by Ms. Sherin, Ms. Darshini, Ms. Jayashree, Ms. Shraniya And Ms. Irene. An overview of Shivaji Maharaj’s life, his vision and his establishment of the Maratha Kingdom was presented through a speech by Ms. Alisha.
The highlight of the programme was a Powada presented by the student teachers focusing on the bravery and valour of Shivaji Maharaj as he overcame Afzal Khan. The Powada was recited by Ms. Ankita and Ms. Priyanka and enacted by Ms. Khushboo, Ms. Charmine, Ms. Jinisha and Ms. Urvi.
The programme concluded with a speech by Principal Dr. Reni Francis who encouraged the students to gain inspiration from the great leaders from our past.
