MES’s Pillai College of Education and Research (Autonomous), Chembur, in collaboration with the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), organized an expert talk on 2nd December, 2025 in observance of World AIDS Day. The session was conducted by Mrs. Dipti Kadam, Consultant from the Mumbai District AIDS Control Society, Wadala.
She highlighted the importance of World AIDS Day (1st December) and aimed to spread awareness among youth while addressing myths and stigma related to HIV/AIDS. The speaker clarified modes of transmission, emphasized empathy towards affected individuals, and discouraged discrimination. Government initiatives and awareness programmes were also discussed.
Special focus was given to ART (Antiretroviral Therapy), explaining how timely treatment can suppress the virus and prevent further transmission. The session concluded with emphasis on preventive measures and responsible behaviour, making it informative and impactful.
