UNESCO launched International Mother Language Day in 1991 with the objective of rebounding international support for the preservation of linguistic diversity, placing particular emphasis on the protection of indigenous languages. The day is noted as a moment for all of us to raise the flag for the importance of mother tongue to all educational efforts to improve the quality of learning and to teach the unreached To inculcate the importance and values of indigenous languages, student teachers of PCER on 27th February, 2020 collaborated and set a perfect example of secularism. The student teachers spoke on the promotion of multilingualism, the background of International Mother Language Day and the sacrifice of Bangladeshi people in establishing mother tongue.. They also got an opportunity to understand its importance in developing child’s personal, social and cultural identity as future teachers. Our Principal Dr. Reni Francis addressed the problems faced by immigrants and inspired young teachers to respect every culture and facts that come along with it.
