PCER observed World Cancer Day, International Day of Women and Girls in Science and National Women’s Day on 11th February at 11.00 a.m. through an online programme organized by the Student Council and the Women Development Cell.
The programme was well hosted by Ms. Swatibala and Ms. Jessikamalam who extended a warm welcome to the audience. The programme commenced with a prayer by Ms. Pooja. The wide variety of activities consisted of – a speech by Ms. Poonam highlighting the various aspects related to World Cancer Day, Ms. Monika, Ms. Palak and Ms. Komal enlightened everyone with respect to the significant contributions of women scientists, a video presentation by Ms. Jayashree dedicated to women honoured their achievements, Ms. Jinisha’s speech highlighted the great contributions of Ms. Sarojini Naidu, Ms. Priyanka composed and recited a poem which paid homage to Ms. Sarojini Naidu. Principal Dr. Reni Francis addressed the students on the occasion and by expanding the mnemonic WOMEN highlighted the significant roles that women play in society, their contributions that oftentimes go unnoticed but that definitely enriches lives and enriches the world. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sakshi who expressed gratitude to all whose efforts led to the success of the programme.
