Objective:

  • Identify the core competency for teachers.
  • Identify the core professional competency for teachers.
  • Identify the common errors by teachers in classroom.

The workshop focussed teacher as a role model and the qualities that every teacher should foster to be effective in the profession. It showed the transitional role of a classroom from being highly connected to highly disconnected with the passage of time. It highlighted the few errors done by teachers in the classroom; this was given by videos and images. The common errors were categorised as – Errors in Communication, Errors in Classroom management and discipline, Professionalism, curriculum transaction, general errors. The workshop highlighted the various issues we face in our classroom and how the teacher could take decision in such cases. It was through movie clippings, self-explanatory pictures, case studies, brainstorming, understanding of Core and Professional competency in detail. The workshop also highlighted various aspects that every student should remember in their classroom practices.
