Objectives of the Activity:
- To be aware of children with special needs
- To create teaching aids catering to children with special needs
A teaching aid competition was conducted for the students of S.Y. B.Ed. on 11th March, 2020. It was done to sensitize them with the need to cater for students with special needs. The student teachers were taught of Identifying the children with special needs- their characteristics and also were given orientation of creating learning resources leading to curricular adaptation, curricular accommodation and curricular modification for CWSN. This orientation and content was useful to them in creating a teaching aid for CWSN. The student teachers were asked to create teaching aids for children with special needs. All the students participated in the same and created models, working models, in order to cater to different needs – visually challenged, deaf, dumb etc. The winners of the competition were judged by two experts- from the field of special education and education. All our 95 students participated in the event.
