M.E.S.’s Pillai College of Education & Research hosted a Special Assembly on 17th February, 2024, to celebrate Shiv Jayanti and International Mother Language Day. The assembly included prayers, discussions on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), news and captivating poem recitations. The event aimed to commemorate the occasions and foster reflection, learning and appreciation for heritage, diversity and sustainable progress. The serene beginning with a soulful prayer set the tone for unity and tranquility. The thought of the day emphasized linguistic diversity, followed by a discussion on SDGs by the students. Poetry recitations added a touch of artistry and emotion to the assembly, showcasing students’ linguistic prowess through heartfelt renditions of poems celebrating cultural diversity, language and identity. The assembly concluded with a sincere vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers. In essence, the event was a harmonious blend of inspiration, education and cultural celebration, reflecting the college’s commitment to holistic development and a deep appreciation for heritage and diversity.
