PCER > Enrichment Program 2019-20 > Session on “Mental Well-being”

Resource Person: Ms. Swati Thoda
Date: 27th September, 2019
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Mahatma Gandhi can be looked upon as one of the greatest visionaries born. His life tells us about the varied emotions he went through as a boy and young adult during difficult times and the experiments he did to cope up with these problems. It was his perseverance and dedication to an unrelenting pursuit of his goal that finally led to his transformation. His concepts like nonviolence, satyagraha, brahmcharya and the concepts related to ‘Truth’ and ‘God’ can give psychological strength and mental resilience to any individual trying to cope up with the demands of life.

To emphasise the same, s session on mental well- being was taken by Ms. Swati Thoda (Clinical Dietician – Pregnancy and Lactation Wellness, heartfulness meditation trainer). This program was done with association of Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur.

Ms. Swati Ma’am, discussed the importance of mental well-being to remain calm and composed in our life. She further highlighted the importance of balanced diet in our daily life. Connecting with Gandhiji’s principles, she spoke the relevance of nonviolence and self-resilience to remain peaceful as well as successful in life.

The session ended with practicing five minutes silence and concentration to develop mindfulness among us. This was a relaxing as well as rejuvenating session for all of us.
