MES’s Pillai College of Education and Research, Chembur celebrated Akshay Urja Diwas on 20th August, 2022. A workshop was conducted by the members of the Energy Club, IIT Bombay. The workshop aimed at spreading awareness about the impact of consumerism on climate change, climate pedagogy, importance of sustainability and enlightening the students about renewable energy. In this one and a half hour long interactive workshop the Energy Club members spoke in depth and discussed with the budding teachers, regarding energy consumption due to food habits, fast fashion, transport, single use plastic. The knowledge shared and received during the workshop focused on providing sustainable solutions to the present rising problems while keeping in mind the Circular Economy. The students from the audience enacted roleplays on climate conversations and participated in fun quizzes. It was indeed an insightful workshop and a learning opportunity for all.
